Mesh Production Facilities
Buchan Concrete has a fully automated
bespoke fabric reinforcement plant at
our factory in Burton-on-Trent.
The machine is one of the most specialised in the UK and allows various combinations of bar spacing and all combinations of both line wire and crosswire from 8-16mm. Sheets can be manufactured up to 8mtrs long and 3mtrs wide and can be produced with ´flying ends´.
The main advantage of bespoke mesh is the elimination of stock holding of standard mesh sheets and of waste usually created from cutting out or basic trimming procedures. The flexibility of the machine means no order is too small to manufacture.
Piling Cages
We have a team dedicated to manufacturing cages for use within the piling sector. Our experienced team has been supplying one of the UK´s largest piling contractors for many years. The cages can be delivered to your site fully fabricated and ready for placing, with cover spacers already attached.
Prefabrication
We offer an off-site prefabrication service. Reinforcing cages can be delivered to your site either welded or wire tied ready to be placed in position.
The advantages of off-site prefabrication include increased speed of completion, lower chance for accidents associated with loose bar, factory controlled quality and the elimination of delay due to adverse weather conditions.

Fixing
The mesh is electronically welded at every intersection.
Bent Mesh
Mesh bending is also available if required.
10° to 180° bends x 5mtr lengths.
An express delivery service is available.
Detailing of Mesh
The mesh detail is computer generated before it is manufactured in the factory. This information is sent to the mesh equipment electronically, reducing the .
 
Testing Facilities
Welded mesh sections are selected and tested in a laboratory to prove compliance with the CARES scheme.
 
Rebar Production Facilities

• We also stock polystyrene, polythene and mesh spacers as standard.
